It is a book about the huge and cruel scam that is Scientology, and the scary way in which even a progressive state as California will persecute victims at Scientology's bidding. You might think that being a Lesbian in California is no problem. You would be terribly wrong. Scientology will persecute any homosexuals found within its ranks and California will help them at every turn, yet refuse to investigate the church terrorizing its victims.It is also a book about the beauty and power of love.And it is a book about the power of individual integrity overcoming all.
If most of us had been put through half of what Michelle LeClair has survived, we would be crazy by now. The more books I read about this "church", the more I realize that somehow they must be stopped. Michelle's story will chill you to the bone, make you fighting mad, and finally show you that with love of family, and friends we can survive.
Great book! Easy read and a new take on Scientology and their ways. A lines with what others say happens but dives deeper as a gay woman fighting to come out in the church.Her story is intriguing and harrowing.Amazing to think these things are still happening to people.

This book shows the power the cult has over its followers and how hard it is to leave. Ms. Leclair is very strong and brave to have been able to get away. The book is an excellent read and I am thankful to have learned so much. I highly recommend this book.
