Clear and impressively detailed discussion of multiple complex, important elder law issues!
The book is filled with great info. But I wish the author did not promote his own company . It sounds very tacky .
Having recently had the "opportunity" of getting an elderly relative approved for Medicaid, I found this book helpful in understanding the concepts and details the legal beagle we hired was throwing at us with abandon - and less than stellar understanding of the state requirements himself. Some of the ideas are useful as preparation in talking to an attorney who understands your own circumstances, and the state laws which will govern your attempts to salvage some of your own assets from the numbskull bureaucrats with whom you'll have to deal.
This book seemed to me to be more of an infomertial than a source of reliable information. He pushes one thing too hard,on a single approach, to the virtual exclusion of all else - and that one thing happens to be a product he licenses. His examples are like the examples in TV commercial. Extreme, overdone and a 100% one sided. Can not recommend.
This book is a must-read for anyone who is serious about protecting their assets from the nightmares of probate, lawsuits and nursing home expenses. The book is easy to read, clear and concise. The examples in the book are real and very informative; they illustrate the dire consequences that families face when their loved ones do not plan in advance. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is concerned about protecting their life's savings from catastrophic nursing home costs. As a fellow elder law attorney, I can vouch for the fact that Mr. Evan Farr is truly a pioneer in this field.

Please save your hard earned money on this book. The whole book is a sales ploy for the authors "Living Trust Plus" system. Just go to their website and skip the "book".
General info to understand options was good. However, that info is the same basic info other attorney's post on their websites. "How to protect your assets . . . " is misleading. It only offers, very generously, how to contact the GREAT and FAMED author to address your interests. No other field conceals information like the legal profession. Self interests over the interests of others, primitive, pathetic. One star was given only because it is mandatory, a negative star seems more in order for deceitfulness.
